Who screams for ice cream?

Is there seriously a better combo then ice cream and a cute girl? I didn’t think so!

In the Fortitude Valleys latest attraction, California Lane, I stumbled across this amazing little desert bar, The Stand Deserts! Teamed up with Nicole Theunissen from Viviens and Bailey Vowels MUA we created some sweet, sweet magic.

I really loved creating this vibe, and I was trying to capture that Californian, summer day. eating ice cream… but fashion… and I think we nailed it!

Nicoles look is such an unique one and i’ve never seen a girl so young embrace such elegance and beauty. Her strength in her poses and look is so inspiring and I can’t wait to work with her again!

Check it outttttttt…..

In the neon lights, everything is a delight

“ In the neon lights, everything is a delight. When it feels right and the music takes you into the night. The glow of the city, the gleam of the machines, the excitement in the game, the yells from your team. We can all have a turn, feel the burn, the excitement of the game - you can’t be tamed. “

This shoot was something that I had a wild idea about late at night, after playing our Nintendo 64. I thought to myself - wow an arcade shoot would be wild! I researched and found heaps of references online but sadly all in America. It was like destiny, one night I was scrolling through instagram, looking under the hashtag #neon and by chance I found B Lucky & Sons!!

This place is insane! A bar and an indoor arcade. I instantly went onto my professional gram and found a model and MUA that I wanted to work with and the dream was born! We got lost, and through confusion I called the place and we found our way! A little hidden gem in Fortitude Valley ( we didn’t even tell them we were shooting - LOL my bad :P).

Zess Thomas my amazing and sassy model, and Bailey Vowles a crazy talented MUA - love these gals and can’t wait to work more with this team! Hit them up!

The team I was working with were insane and loved all my wacky ideas and requests ( even laughed at my lame dad joke humour which was the best part hehe) The magic and the vibes we created was one of a kind and I hope you LOVE having a scroll and reading our photographic story!

She's a golden girl, let her shine bright

"Shes a golden girl, let her shine. Let her shine bright. In the afternoon delights, she shimmers, she gleams, she’s the most beautiful thing any one has ever seen. She takes the stage, and makes it her own, its the only thing she has ever know. And the performance is one you will remember, one you will never forget. Because as the end comes near, the only thing that disappears, is that sunshine, but not the light.”

Katherine is a ballet dancer, and this is something I find so beautiful, so courages, so inspiring. She commands attention, and by goodness she sure delivers grace and beauty. Instantly I felt such good vibes from her, as we melted in the sun, cooled ourselves off with water, some of us getting stung by blue bottles ( my butt hurst, so does Jades foot!), but it was all totally worth it.

The magic that this dream squad created was insane, and I am truly blessed to call this work. Through being nude in front of families, and getting sand anywhere and everywhere for me, this was such a fun afternoon.

I can’t wait to shoot with you gals again soon!

Blue Bottles & Dusky Blue Skies

It was nearing to the end of our shoot, and for what we had hoped to be a great “golden hour”, the sun, for Katherine the beautiful model and our make up artist Jade, has disappeared.

We were launched straight into dusk, but I was still super inspired and thought, “lets try our luck”! Katherines tan was so beautiful and golden, and the makeup that we had done was also golden and bronze, so I worked with the dusk, the muddy sand, and the waves and created these BREATH TAKING final stills….

Read onto hear about the rest of our day and the other bright airy shots in the next couple of blog posts! This location and team were both amazing! The vibes were great, the content even better and I can’t WAIT to create some new magic with these girls soon!

Julia & Otis's Engagement 18/11/2018

Lets start off by saying, HOW FREAKING COOL ARE THESE TWO?! Space shirts and shift flower dresses, all literally, my new FAVOURITE COMBO!

They are such a quirky and incredibly cute and sweet couple!

I’ve knows Julia for a few years ( see her portrait in the portraits page of my blog!!) and she has always been a 12/10 STUNNER! When Otis and her started dating a couple of years ago I instantly fell in love with them and asked her to book me for a couple shoot!

Otis not being a fan of portraits or photos of any kind ( well at the time we thought that anyway :P) was always very hesitant! BUT when I suggested the Mnt Cootha Botanical Gardens, he jumped at the idea, as the two are BIG cactus fans hehe.

The day was so hit and miss with a gloomy sky and the possibility of a shower at any moment, but one thing that wasn’t unclear, was the LOVE that these two have for each other.

Only a few short weeks ago, whilst on a holiday in Bali, this handsome devil, Otis, proposed to Julia!!

It was such a surprise to me, as after they had booked me in I said “ wouldn’t it be super cute if Otis just surprise proposed to you on the shoot?!” In which case Julia laughed and said “ it’s funny you say that, we haven’t made it social media official yet, but Otis DID propose in Bali a few weeks ago!!”.

TOTALLY PERFECT!!

Enough of my rambling…. the images speak for themselves.

I HAD A BLAST.

THEY HAD A BLAST.

THEY ARE INCREDIBLE & SO DAMN BEAUTIFULLY IN LOVE!

Enjoy flicking through!

My boy lollipop, you make my heart go giddy up!

My boy lollipop, you make my heart go giddy-up! You are as sweet as candy, you are my sugar dandy…. waaaaala-waaalala-waaaaaaalala my booooooooy lollipop! Or something along those lines……

Sugar Republic in Brisbane was such a great vibe! Shooting with my all time fave make up artist, Jessica Walshe, and an aspiring model Michela, this was a creative explosion and super fun!

From neon candy walls to fairy floss swings, this session was a blast and such a great addition to all of our creative portfolios! Free hub bubba gum, ball pits, hanging inflatable fruit, the list goes on! I could of shot in here for days, but the ticket price only allows one hour ( such a sad time!!). We made the most of it though and had a killer time ( and some laughs) whilst doing it!

Videos will be to follow for this session, in the works so stay updated on this post!!

PS would LOVE to do more wild and wacky sessions like these so HMU now for content work like this - would love to work with you!

Jen & Warren Wedding, Birkdale, Brisbane 14/09/2018

Jen and Warrens wedding was surely like any other wedding - full of romance, personal jokes and little funny moments. One thing that I noticed though, was that everything was fairly casual and comfortable to them. This is something I really loved - it was THEIR day and they made it so!

The wedding set place in their family home backyard, with simple hay balls for chairs and a flower covered steel arbor. The couple had been married before, so this was a second marriage commitment ( but with new partners ), but even more special. Marrying later in life didn’t mean that it was any less special - the charm, and tear jerkingly beautiful moments were ever so present throughout the whole day!

After the ceremony, it was off for a short session with the couple to a local park, followed by bridal and grooms party photos along side the bay in Wellington Point - a favourite place of the couple. Water and the ocean is something that brings me much peace, and it sure made the couple feel very peaceful, comfortable and in love.

What a beautiful and relaxed day! Finishing up with a small afternoon nibbles and reception at Ginger & Lime Cafe in Birkdale - this was an incredible day and I was so blessed to be apart of it!

Enjoy the gallery below!

A new flower has bloomed

In life, we are bought into this world so innocent, so delicate, so pure. We are nourished and cared for by our parents - whether that is a mother or father, a sole parent, a relative - we are showered with love, taught right from wrong and one day grow to have children of our own.

Likeness to a flower, we bloom - we create a life for our own, we blossom into what we dream, what we aspire to be. I am lucky enough, to see these little babies, and document them in all their newborn glory, for their loving parents.

Beautiful, and delicate Hannah - born 05/07/2018, weighing just a tiny 6lb 8oz, and as perfect as ever. I chose for this session to celebrate her with blooms - pretty as a picture that she is.

I love working with organic elements, especially with children or babies, it softens them in the softest way possible, and this little miss sure was a poser. What I never forget, is to document the finest moments; holding hands, kissing, clothing your baby in your arms - these are the moments you will treasure and look back on. Remembering her small fingertips, her little toes, the way her mouth pouts so perfectly that it makes you stop and think - "WOW! did we make that?". These are the moments I live for - these are the moments I cherish as your photographer.

Meghann & Dan's Engagement 19/05/2018

A Hidden gem in the heart of Brisbane, The Brekky Creek Hotel's "Rum Bar" is an absolute delight!

Low lit lamps, decking and hundreds of bottles of rum, this little bar sure packs a punch and a good amount of people celebrating this young couples love.

Together with some of their closest friends, and family, Meghann and Dan celebrated their engagement with a few drinks, nibbles and a whole lot of love.

There was gossip, "the boyyyyys", family giggles and stories shared - thank you for letting me be apart of it.

He liked it, so he put a ring on it!!

"it was always you...."

Oh, what it's like to be 1 Years Old!

A couple of weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to photograph this gorgeous little girl, Sobihan's birthday party.... oh what it's like to be 1 years old!

Together with some of her little friends, and lots of family, this little girl laughed, giggled, squealed and experienced lots of firsts ( including seeing bubbles for the first time.... these sure did confused and entertained her hehe).

Fairy bread, cake and lots of cute pink food decorated the tables at this little park celebration, it was such a fun job!

Check out the photos below, and contact me now for your next party!
